James Mays is a respected authority on collectable cars. His special area of expertise is the Canadian industry, its personalities and products. He is the author of Ford and Canada: 100 Years Together. His column The Ford Files appears regularly in Old Autos. His book Roll Call: The Ford of Canada Centennial Photo Album will be released this summer. In September 2004 his book Ford Ranchero 1957-1979 will be released by Iconografix.” Mays is known as a meticulous researcher and writes with humour. A radio talk show host once accused him of making cars seem nice!

The award-winning author has 29 books to his credit, including five automotive histories. His columns appear regularly in Old Autos –Canada’s newspaper for the enthusiast and Old Cars. He is a staff writer for Vintage Truck, Antique Power and Belt Pulley.

A member of the Society of Automobile Historians, a permanent collection of Mays’ works is housed at the University of Windsor library in the James Mays Collection. He contributes to Old Autos, Old Cars, Vintage Truck, Belt Pulley, V-8, Toy Cars & Models, Reader’s Digest and Automobile Quarterly.
